High (2″ Gusset)
3 Year Limited
Does your pillow look like it went ten rounds with a WWE wrestler? Is it time to replace it but you’re worried about getting a pillow that won’t let you down? Finding a new pillow that is as comfortable as your tried and tested favorite can be challenging but don’t worry, we have you covered.
We reviewed the Casper pillow with you in mind. How well would it last as a WWE fighter? Probably not long, but then we don’t want to have to fight with our pillows, do we?
Find out how the Casper stacks up by reading our detailed review.
It is constructed of an inner layer of thin, long low-friction fibers, formed into a smaller, separate cushion that can be removed if necessary.
The outer layer is constructed of thin, short, low-friction fibers and lined with polyester to help keep the microfibers separate from the inner section. That way, when removing the inner part, you don’t have to worry about the outer layer of fibers falling out.
These fibers are made of polyester for increased longevity. The technology used during the filling process makes the microfibers more resistant to clumping so that they don’t get lumpy and bumpy after a few washes.
The pillow is designed with these two layers to create a balance between comfort and support.
Comfort / Support / Feel
The outer layer of longer fibers helps to lend a softer feel for added comfort. You get the impression that your head is sinking nicely into the pillow and feel cradled by it. The short fibers that make up the inner layer lend extra support.
Your head and neck are cradled and feel supported. For me, it felt comfortable. I was able to sleep comfortably, and I didn’t have any neck pain when I woke in the morning.
Percale Woven Cover
The cover is 100% cotton and features a 2-inch gusset that helps to balance out the height of the pillow. What makes this cover unique is that it is a tightly woven percale. The lends a luxurious, crisp cotton feel and ensures that the fiberfill stays where it is meant to – in the pillow.
The cover fits the over the inner fit snugly, also helping to ensure that the fill stays where it should. It is lined with a polyester lining.
Both the cover and inner can be put through the regular washer and dryer cycle. There is a zip on the outside that lets you remove the inner cushion to reduce drying time if you like. Alternatively, just pop everything into the wash.
The zipper is good quality and not likely to snag or fail quickly.
Purely from an aesthetic point of view, this pillow is not going to stand out. The cover is very plain. Personally, I really liked the inner polyester lining more. It is a crisp striped design featuring navy blue stripes on a white background.
The smaller cushion on the inside is just plain white so, if you plan to use that on its own, you’ll need to keep this in mind.
If you are a side sleeper or back sleeper, the Casper will offer you decent support and help to keep your neck and head in the correct alignment. If you sleep on your stomach, though, the combination of the height of this pillow and the medium level of support could be a problem.

What you can do, if you sleep on your stomach, is to remove the inner cushion and rest on that. Alternatively, if you like a flat pillow, sleep on the just the outer portion. This is a much more effective height for a stomach sleeper.
For me personally, this is a good pillow for a back or side sleeper who prefers a bit more height and support to their pillow. The pillow can be adjusted to suit a stomach sleeper, but that would mean paying for either an outer or inner cover that you are not really going to use.
The height here could also be an issue for back sleepers who are used to sleeping on a much flatter piece.
What is nice is that changing position is more natural. You don’t have to whack the cushion back into shape once you have gotten your head position right. I found that rolling my head to one side or the other didn’t affect the form too negatively.
- The cover comes from China, but the filling and finishing are completed in the United States.
- Easy to wash and dry.
- Choose either a Standard (18” x 26”) or a King (18” x 34”).
- This smells okay – it is almost odorless.
You will like the Casper Pillow if:
Overall, this is a pretty solid pillow. The design is quite innovative. That said, it is better-suited to those who like a little height or more support when they sleep at night. If you are a stomach sleeper, you can just use just the inner part, but it might be better to look for something else.
Some people have said that the pillow rustles a little when you move your head but I didn’t find that to be too much of an issue. If you are more sensitive to this kind of noise, though, it might be worth keeping this in mind.
- You are a back sleeper or side sleeper.
- You need to refurbish your guest bedroom. This will allow you to cater to all your guests. They can use it as is, or remove the inner portion and sleep on that. Alternatively, they could just use the outer piece by itself.
- You want a cover that has a high-quality, luxe feel.
- You like to be able to sink into the pillow at night.
- You’re, like me, one of those people who really battle to find the perfect blend of comfort and softness.
- You like something that has a bit more give compared to memory foam.
- You need something that allows for more air circulation than foam.
- You prefer a medium level of support.
- You want something with a more robust feel to it. This is a little heavier than your standard pillow.
- You’re a fan of the Casper brand in general.
- You don’t mind paying a little extra for quality.
All in all, this is a good option for you if you sleep on your side or your back. The fact that you can remove the inner section makes this a much more versatile buy than a lot of others on the market. Cleaning and caring for this product is simple and quickly done at home. Overall, it offers excellent value and a reasonable amount of support.
